Scholarship Description
The School of Philosophy and Bioethics, Monash University, is offering top-up scholarships for up to two PhD students to work on issues in neurophilosophy. The specific research projects lie within either the philosophy of consciousness science or within the philosophy of emotion and affective neuroscience. The scholarships will be for research work to be conducted under the supervision of Dr Jakob Hohwy, at Monash University. Candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary research group. Depending on candidates’ background and interests, it may be possible to conduct empirical experiments alongside theoretical, philosophical work. Each stipend top-up scholarship is worth $5,000 p.a. (tax exempt) for three years and will be awarded to a holder of either a Monash University PhD scholarship , a Monash International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (MIPRS) or an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) to be taken up at Monash University.

Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD5000 (per annum). This award is to be used for research. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Philosophy. It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 1, 2010 and no later than December 31, 2012.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
